HOW DID THE EDUCATION EVENT OF THE CENTURY COME TO BE?

Over the course of the past several years, some of the best cosmetologists world-wide have been participating in message boards across the Internet and meeting once or twice a year at conventions and other venues surrounding the beauty industry.  During these interactions, a common resounding frustration has been the lack of “real” advanced education for hairstylists.  

    While we have recognized that education is available through manufacturers in an effort to sell their product, non-brand specific education is virtually non-existent. When it is available, it is often in such large groups that it is still nearly impossible to take full advantage of the knowledge of the educators and other participants.  Furthermore, the classes are often conducted by leaders who have been out of the salon environment and instead educate full time, thereby creating the void that comes from understanding the nuances that occur in our everyday workplaces.  

    In an effort to combat these shortcomings,  we set out to begin a program of education that seeks to educate for the sheer love of the industry and the excellence that comes with continuing education.  Each of the educators on the caucus is donating their time and their knowledge to this end.  The ticket price pays only for the travel expenses for the educators and the rental space.  Truly, this event will unquestionably be the educational spectacular of the century!
